Red Light, Squid Game’s Green Light remade in Epic Games’ Unreal engine

Squid game was all the rage as the masses flocked to Netflix to binge on the Korean series. And its popularity inspired programmers to adapt the concept to the video game format.

We have seen many iterations of the Squid game games designed in existing games such as Roblox, Monitoring, and many more, but a programmer recreated the first game in the series, “Red Light, Green Light”, using Epic Games Unreal Engine.

In a clip shared on the Unreal Engine subreddit, one user showcased their work so far, and it perfectly captures the show’s playing in all but one aspect.

The only thing the game is missing right now is the contestant’s green clothes, but other than that every aspect of the creepy tree, spooky doll, and false walls of land feels authentic.

Unreal Engine is used in particular for the flagship title of Epic Games Fortnite, but in this creation things get a bit more violent than usual in Fortnite. Whenever a player is knocked out like in the series, they are shot down, but this creation makes it more realistic by showcasing some pretty realistic ragdoll blood and physics.

The creation of Saas receives a lot of praise on Reddit, with many calling for it to be made into a full multiplayer game once it’s complete. Right now, those who want to play Squid game-inspired content will have to stick to the simpler modes currently active in games like Roblox.
