Monty Don was forced to call for help today when his Land Rover’s engine ‘blew up’ on the road. The Gardeners’ World star posted a photo of the vehicle being towed away as his fans rushed to send their best wishes.
Monty, 67, uploaded the post given his 1.1 million followers.
“I needed rescue tonight,” he wrote.
“I had this Land Rover for 18 years with almost no problems but the engine blew up.
“It will be back on the road in a few days, but probably with a new engine.”
Monty recently spoke out about the confusion caused among Gardeners’ World fans after the program was ‘shunted’ by the BBC.
Fans of the hit program had taken to Twitter to complain about the recent changes to the regular schedule.
Given his 271,000 Twitter followers, Monty explained that despite the postponement, viewers would be entertained with great content.
He wrote: “Gardeners World tonight was sent back at 9.30am but full of good stuff.
“We have Steve’s garden from the repair shop, a garden created around stunning views, a superb walled vegetable garden and a review of what has suffered most and least from the drought in Longmeadow.”
Monty received an outpouring of congratulatory messages yesterday as the presenter announced a new addition to the family.
The TV star was delighted to reveal the arrival of her granddaughter, Daisy Rose Don.
