Mahindra XUV300 Sportz 2022 design leak: To get new turbo-petrol engine with 130 BHP – Reuters

The Mahindra XUV300 is set for a mid-life facelift, with the company teasing the updated subcompact SUV revealing that it will feature some visual upgrades like new alloy wheels, as well as the new Mahindra upside-down two-peak logo. However, Mahindra also plans to launch a sportier variant of the SUV in the market to directly compete with the Hyundai Venue N Line.
First unveiled at Auto Expo 2020, the XUV300 Sportz has now been leaked ahead of its official debut, showing its full design. The SUV is finished in a unique gunmetal paint scheme and gets new two-tone alloy wheels. There are also red highlights on the grille, which should be unique to the Sportz variant.

The car received a black roof, as well as black mirrors. The interior is also all black, unlike the two-tone theme of the regular XUV300. The biggest change, however, is going to be the one under the hood. Powering the XUV300 Sportz will likely be an updated version of the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, producing 130hp of peak power and 230Nm of peak torque. This will make it the most powerful car in the segment, as well as the most powerful car under 4m in India.
The pre-facelift XUV300’s 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine develops 109hp and 200Nm of torque, while its 1.5-litre diesel engine develops 115hp and 300Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed MT, as well than a 6-speed AMT.
