Heart of Chesterfield included in the Midlands Engine investment portfolio – Destination Chesterfield


The Midlands Engine partnership has launched the Midlands Investment Portfolio – a ‘digital gateway’ opening up investment opportunities across the region, with the heart of Chesterfield included in the range of investment opportunities available across the region.

Together, it is estimated that these opportunities could support or create 220,000 jobs and generate over £33 billion in gross development value.

In the digital portfolio, the ‘Heart of Chesterfield’ entry reads: “With a series of significant regeneration and redevelopment underway across the city, Chesterfield is building on its industrial roots and market town heritage to become a destination contemporary with a prosperous future.

“Ongoing developments have already delivered new commercial units, offices, innovation hubs, modern housing, shopping malls and new schools – and the city offers attractive investment opportunities across a range of schemes.

“Over the next few years the town center will be transformed through developments such as Chesterfield Waterside, Northern Gateway, Elder Way, public realm improvements and the delivery of the Chesterfield Station Master Plan.

“There is a range of investment opportunities available, including equity investment, residential, end users and leisure and hotel operators.

“Chesterfield is a sub-regional service center for North Derbyshire, it has a large town center steeped in history with an historic market, but balanced by new investment and opportunities including the Leveling Up Fund.”
