SALT LAKE CITY — A Delta Air Lines flight to Minnesota on Friday night had to turn around and return to Salt Lake City International Airport due to an engine problem.
Delta Flight 1073 had just departed for Minneapolis when an engine problem occurred. The flight landed safely in Salt Lake City.
“There were engine issues,” Salt Lake City International spokeswoman Nancy Volmer told KSL. “What was it, I don’t know.”
On Saturday, Delta Air Lines released a statement regarding the incident.
“Delta Flight 1073 from Salt Lake City to Minneapolis on Friday July 8 safely returned to Salt Lake City shortly after departure to resolve an engine performance issue with one of the engines,” a spokesperson said. from Delta. “While we apologize to our customers for their travel delays, the safety of our customers and our people remains Delta’s highest priority.”
The flight continued to Minneapolis Saturday morning. Delta says all passengers have been accommodated.
