Bengaluru-Patna flight makes emergency landing at Nagpur Airport due to engine problem


Nagpur (PTI): A GoAir flight to Patna from Bengaluru with 139 passengers on board made an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport on Saturday after suffering a problem in one of the engines, said a responsible.

The flight landed safely at the airport at 11:15 a.m., the official said.

“The pilot of the GoAir flight contacted Nagpur ATC to inform them that one of the aircraft’s engines had a problem and made an emergency landing request at Nagpur Airport,” airport manager Abid Ruhi told PTI.

There were 139 passengers on board besides crew members, he said.

“We have taken all the necessary steps to declare it a full-scale emergency, which includes the provision of runways, firefighters, medics, ambulances and requires coordination with the police. Fortunately, the theft has landed safely, ”Ruhi said.

Passengers wait at the GoAir terminal and other arrangements are being made for them, he said.
